Dr. Rola Hallam
Founder and CEO
Rola is a consultant anaesthetist, humanitarian, human rights advocate and social entrepreneur. She is the founder and CEO of CanDo, a not-for-profit social enterprise delivering resources directly to local humanitarians who provide essential healthcare to their war-devastated communities. She was co-founder and Medical Director of the charity Hand-In-Hand for Syria, playing an integral part with other Syrian NGOs in building 7 hospitals in the north of the country. Rola lectures at the London School of Economics and King’s College London, and is an international speaker and advocate for the cessation of targeting of civilians in war zones, and the protection of medical neutrality.
Rola is also the first Syrian TED Fellow.
